The story behind Intricacy Unbound

I remember when I was worried people wouldn't like details in mandalas.

Patterns like little swirls, waves, hearts, flowers, suns, and whatever random shape my brain decided belonged there that day.

Before I released Expert Level Extra Detailed Mandalas Volume One, I actually asked a few friends if they thought it was too detailed.

Imagine my surprise when I joined some mandala coloring groups and was told, in no uncertain terms, that while people loved the book, it wasn't really expert level... or extra detailed.

Internally, I thought: Challenge accepted.

With each new volume, I let my detail-loving creativity run a little wilder.

By Volume 6, the level of detail had become something entirely different. The spaces are tiny, the patterns are intricate, and coloring them takes patience, fine-tip markers, and sometimes even a magnifying glass.

The finished pages are absolutely stunning.

But I had a problem.

Back in Volume One, I'd decided the series would alternate between full-page mandalas and circle mandalas.

By the time I reached Volume Six, I realized something.

I just wasn't interested in drawing any more full-page mandalas.

Both Minute Mandalas and Mindful Mandalas had naturally ended at six volumes, so it felt right for the Expert Level series to end there too.

The thing is...

I stopped the Expert series, but not the detailed drawing.

I still spend hours every day creating mandalas, and I still love packing them with impossibly tiny details.

And I know there are colorists who enjoy coloring them just as much as I enjoy drawing them.

That's how Intricacy Unbound was born.

It's an expert-level series devoted entirely to circles.

No alternating layouts.

Just page after page of tiny spaces, intricate patterns, and details waiting to be discovered.

These books are definitely best suited to fine-tip markers or gel pens. The tiny spaces mean they're easier to smudge if you're not careful, but they're also wonderfully immersive.
